A number of individuals have been feared lifeless after a ferry with 95 passengers capsized on Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe on Tuesday, police and eyewitnesses stated.
The boat, which supplies transport between the northern city of Kariba and a number of other islands and fishing camps, overturned after hitting robust waves.
Lake Kariba lies on Zimbabwe’s border with Zambia, greater than 300 kilometres (185 miles) northeast of the capital Harare.
It’s the world’s largest man-made lake by quantity.
The ferry “with 90 individuals and 5 crew members has capsized in Lake Kariba”, police stated.
