Nutrition Experts Urge Balanced Diet to Combat Lifestyle Diseases

Health specialists advocate healthier eating habits and preventive care as cases of obesity and diabetes continue to rise.

New Delhi, Aug. 6: Health experts have urged people to adopt balanced dietary habits and regular physical activity to reduce the growing burden of lifestyle-related diseases, including obesity, diabetes and hypertension.

Nutritionists said changing food habits, sedentary lifestyles and excessive consumption of processed foods are contributing to an increase in chronic illnesses across all age groups. They recommended greater intake of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and protein rich foods while limiting sugar, salt and saturated fats.

Doctors highlighted that preventive healthcare remains the most effective strategy for reducing long-term medical complications. Routine health screenings, adequate sleep and stress management were identified as equally important components of overall well being.

Public health specialists also called for stronger awareness campaigns in schools, workplaces and communities to encourage healthier lifestyles from an early age. They noted that early intervention can significantly lower healthcare costs and improve quality of life.

Medical experts believe that sustained public education, improved nutrition awareness and accessible preventive healthcare services will play a crucial role in tackling the rising incidence of non-communicable diseases in the country.
