Landslide hits Sikkim’s Mangan, partially blocks Teesta River flow
Landslide occurred above the Chyakoong River, reverse OC Bhir, in the course of the intervening evening of September 5 and 6.

Sikkim, September 6: A landslide occurred above the Chyakoong River in Sikkim’s Mangan district in the course of the intervening evening of September 5 and 6, authorities mentioned.The district administration obtained studies from the district police and Chungthang Sub-Division police in regards to the incident close to OC Bhir. A big part of the hillside alongside a newly constructed street reducing of the Naga-Tosa Street within the Naga Forest space collapsed close to the confluence of the Teesta and Chyakoong rivers, reverse the Theng Tunnel.In accordance with the ANI report, the landslide partially blocked the stream of each rivers, quickly obstructing the Teesta and elevating considerations about additional disruption to water stream within the space.
