We have seen a boxy camouflaged SUV being tested on the Indian roads. Its design aesthetics, like the alloys and other elements, help identify it as a Hyundai product. While the brand has not revealed anything yet, this new SUV is expected to be positioned in the sub-4m compact SUV segment. The same segment as the Hyundai Venue. Now, the Venue is already on sale; the Korean automaker might only offer an electric powertrain in this new boxy SUV.

Now, Hyundai’s sister brand, Kia, recently launched the Syros EV. The Syros already goes up against the Nexon EV in India – the same as what Hyundai is targeting with its new boxy EV. So, Hyundai’s new EV could be carrying over the equipment suite from the Syros EV itself. In terms of features, we expect the Hyundai SUV to get features like: a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, 12.3-inch infotainment unit, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, premium sound system, ADAS suite, 6 airbags, and more in its package.

While the Hyundai EV could carry the features from the Syros, the battery packs are expected to differ. For this EV, Hyundai might bring in the battery packs from the Inster (its globally sold EV) – a 42kWh and 49 kWh. Expect the model to deliver a range of nearly 400-450km on a single charge.
