Tata Memorial Hospital director Dr C S Pramesh would be the chief visitor on the 86th convocation of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) on August 22, changing Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, whose scheduled look on the ceremony earlier this month was adopted by its last-minute postponement.

The convocation was initially scheduled for August 2, with the CJI slated to be the chief visitor. The institute postponed the occasion two days earlier than the ceremony, citing “unexpected circumstances” and saying it couldn’t be held in a “conducive surroundings”.

TISS had not disclosed the circumstances, however college students and officers had cited considerations over doable protests and safety preparations linked to the CJI’s go to.
