Srinivasa Mangapuram: Jaya Krishna Deserves a Better Launch

Telugu cinema was left in shock after the release of Srinivasa Mangapuram. The film marked the debut of Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, the grandson of Superstar Krishna garu and the son of Late Ramesh Babu. The film released like every other Telugu film without hype. Superstar Mahesh Babu released a formal video byte and he showed no interest to promote the film. The makers skipped the pre-release event and the promotional planning was poor. The trailer and the songs failed to attract the audience.

Srinivasa Mangapuram released on Thursday between low expectations and as predicted the film opened on a poor note. Srinivasa Mangapuram struggled to complete its first weekend on a decent note. Despite the legacy of the Ghattamaneni family, the film opened on a poor note. This makes it clear that the audience are not much interested to watch any film unless the content, songs and the trailer are impressive. Jaya Krishna is treated like just every other youngster and his debut film was rejected badly.

Reasons: Srinivasa Mangapuram suffered badly because of the poor writing and the narration. Director Ajay Bhupathi who proved his mettle with RX 100 and Managalavaaram failed badly in delivering an impressive product. The second half of the film lacked emotional connect and the entire film was highly predictable. The makers too ignored the promotions and the chatter is that they are well aware of the film’s result in advance and they have stopped the promotions.

Hardcore Fans: After Mahesh Babu stood away from promoting the film, even the hardcore Ghattamaneni fans ignored the film. They did not turn out to the theatres to watch Srinivasa Mangapuram. The film’s closing numbers will be shockingly low and they are less than the closing figures of several small films.

Feedback of Jaya Krishna: The youngster’s performance was appreciated by all those who watched the film. He has ease in acting but he needs to improve a lot. His dancing skills were decent and he performed well in the action episodes. All that he needed is a right film, told many who watched the film.

What Next?: As per the update, Anil Sunkara is in plans to produce a film with Jaya Krishna. Top producers Mythri Movie Makers too are in plans to work with Jaya Krishna. For now, nothing has been finalized.

Srinivasa Mangapuram is a lesson for Telugu cinema and it proves that the family legacy will not help if the content is bad. The film is not the right debut for Jaya Krishna and he deserves a better one.
