Yan Diomande set to join Real Madrid in imminent transfer

Real Madrid has almost secured Yan Diomande. The club has made considerable progress in negotiations with Leipzig in recent hours, and the player is now waiting for news from Austria, where he is already training with his team, so he can pack his bags and undergo the medical examination. In fact, the agreement could be made official tomorrow.

Leipzig had announced on their social media this very morning that Diomande had returned to training. However, at the same time they were working intensively with Madrid to finalize an agreement. The fact that the player has traveled to Austria therefore does not mean that there is any distancing or that the deal had cooled off. The former Leganés player had been ill according to the club, and that caused him to travel later than his teammates to the training camp.

Madrid are going to break the bank for this Ivory Coast winger. Although, based on the figures that have come to light, the deal could be closed for 120 million, the transfer could end up being somewhat higher after the latest talks and Leipzig’s demands. It is therefore not ruled out that he could become the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history, surpassing Cristiano’s 117 million or the more than 100 million for Hazard or Bellingham, which with add-ons may also have reached 120 million in the case of the Belgian and the Englishman.

The legal mess between the agents

Apart from Leipzig’s high demands, there have been other reasons that have delayed the signing. The player, who had committed to PSG, ultimately chose Madrid and everything pointed to the agreement between the clubs moving quickly. But the white club ran into a setback it was unaware of and that surprised it. The legal web involving different agencies over the player’s image rights.

Maxidel Management’s lawsuit, the former agency representing Yan Diomande, against the current one, Roc Nation, has also been a setback. FIFA is aware because the case has already reached its offices, but it is not going to cause problems and a provisional transfer could even be granted.

Roc Nation is also the agency representing Vinicius and Endrick. Precisely, Diomande’s signing has fueled even more the rumors about a sale of Vinicius, who still has not renewed his contract although his agents are due to meet in the coming days with José Ángel Sánchez. Not forgetting as well Arsenal’s interest in the Brazilian.
