Trump calls Strait of Hormuz ‘American territory’, warns Iran over nuclear weapons
U.S. President Donald Trump stated Iran must not ever be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon and described the Strait of Hormuz as “American territory” amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, Al Jazeera reported.
“They wish to make a deal so badly, we don’t even know if we would like [a deal] as a result of I view the Strait of Hormuz as an American territory proper now, it’s an American territory,” Mr. Trump stated, as per Al Jazeera.
Earlier, chatting with reporters at Joint Base Andrews earlier than departing for Myrtle Seashore, Mr. Trump had claimed that the USA had “complete management” over the Strait of Hormuz and supported the thought of declaring the strategic waterway a U.S. territory.
