A vessel has been struck by an “unknown projectile” whereas transiting the Strait of Hormuz, inflicting harm to the engine room and leading to a crew casualty, the UK Maritime Commerce Operations (UKMTO) stated.
The vessel’s firm safety officer reported the strike to UKMTO early on Tuesday, saying the Omani coastguard was aiding the remaining crew.
