The US Central Command on Saturday stated it had caught three Iranian oil tankers following IRGC missile assaults focusing on two American Navy warships.
“US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces struck three Iranian crude oil carriers, Sept. 5, after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missiles towards two US Navy warships patrolling regional waters,” the American navy stated in a press release.
The US CENTCOM stated the focused Navy warships had “efficiently evaded” the a number of Iranian assaults, calling the strikes “unprovoked”. It stated that no American personnel had been harmed within the assault.
‘We are going to impose an excellent greater price’: US CENTCOM warns IRGC
Following the strikes, US CENTCOM issued a warning to the IRGC. “Let the message to the IRGC be clear: If you happen to shoot at two of our ships, we’ll impose an excellent greater financial price —taking out three of yours,” US Admiral and CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper stated.
“We won’t hesitate to defend American forces, and if essential, destroy Iran’s restricted and uncovered oil fleet,” Cooper added.
Sharing data on the strikes, the CENTCOM stated it had “completely disabled the IRGC crude oil carriers M/T Downy off the coast of Kharg Island and M/T Stark 1 close to Jask.” They stated that the US navy had additionally “fully destroyed” an unladen oil service, M/T Kylo, within the Gulf of Oman. The M/T Kylo, often known as the Noxen, was struck in “a number of important areas to render it inoperable” after the crew members onboard had been directed to desert the ship, the CENTCOM said.
