Three individuals had been arrested on Sunday (August 16, 2026) after the daddy of a Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) volunteer died on Saturday (August 15, 2026) of accidents suffered in an assault on Thursday (August 13, 2026) in West Bengal‘s Bankura.
The CJP has claimed that native Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) employees attacked Janab Mafik, father of Shaik Abdul Hafeez, the CJP volunteer.
Nonetheless, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari dismissed the allegation and stated a primary info report was lodged towards 5 individuals, three of whom had been arrested.
“Of the 5 individuals towards whom an FIR has been registered, three have already been arrested. The 2 others can even be arrested. There isn’t any BJP connection right here. They’re all criminals. Motion might be taken in keeping with regulation,” Mr. Adhikari informed reporters.
Officers stated the incident befell at Bankura’s Karisunda on Thursday (August 13, 2026) after Mr. Hafiz went to ‘examine’ a authorities college as a part of the CJP’s ‘Faculty Thik Karo’ marketing campaign. He had attended the CJP’s protest final month at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Training Minister.
