Eleven weapons, together with 4 AK-47s, six pistols and an INSAS rifle, have been stolen from the high-security Secunderabad Cantonment in Telangana. The incident is believed to have occurred on Sunday evening.
The arms have been allegedly stolen from a room contained in the Madras Regiment premises. The realm is accessed by navy personnel and a few civilian staff, police sources stated.
Following a criticism by prime Military personnel, the Bollaram police registered a theft case on Monday. Police officers are tight-lipped and have launched an investigation to establish the individuals who visited the storage unit in the previous couple of days.
Senior officers from the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate are concerned within the investigation, in line with officers.
The Military, suspecting an inside job, has sealed the realm and is interviewing guards and safety personnel.
As per the police criticism, somebody gained entry to the high-security space and broke open the lock and door. Police and Military officers are checking CCTV footage to establish the culprits.
“We now have began the investigation with the total cooperation of the Military regiment,” a senior police official stated.
