Vice President CP Radhakrishnan congratulated Indian athletes for their exceptional achievements at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, highlighting their determination and fighting spirit. He commended boxers Arundhati Choudhary, Sachin Siwach, Ankush Panghal, Priya Ghanghas, and Sakshi Chaudhary for winning gold medals, Lovlina Borgohain for securing a silver medal, and Unnati Sharma for earning a bronze in judo.
India concluded its historic boxing campaign with a record seven gold medals, following Narender Berwal’s silver medal in the men’s 90+kg category on Saturday.

Sachin Siwach staged a remarkable comeback in the men’s 60kg final against Namibia’s Tryagain Morning Ndevelo, overturning a deficit after two rounds to win by a 3-2 split decision. Ankush Panghal secured India’s seventh gold by defeating England’s Dimeji Shittu 4-1 in the men’s 80kg final. Arundhati Choudhary delivered a commanding 5-0 unanimous victory over England’s Chantelle Reid in the women’s 70kg final. Lovlina Borgohain took silver after a 1-4 split decision loss to Australia’s Emma-Sue Greentree in the women’s 75kg final.
VP Radhakrishnan also praised Priya Ghanghas and Sakshi Chaudhary for their boxing gold medals and Unnati Sharma for her bronze medal in judo, calling their success a proud moment for the country.

Sakshi Chaudhary contributed to India’s gold tally by defeating England’s Ruby White 5-0 in the women’s 51kg final. Priya Ghanghas closed the campaign with a 4-1 split decision win over Canada’s Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh in the women’s 60kg final.
