Gleneagles Hospital in Chennai launched a new liver OPD suite, a dedicated, high-capacity clinical hub for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of liver diseases on Tuesday, a press release said.
The suite aims to brings every stage of liver disease and every age group under one roof, offering integrated care. The facilities will include specialised paediatric hepatology and paediatric liver transplant care for infants and children; a comprehensive programme for metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and other metabolic liver disorders; an integrated hepatorenal care pathway for patients with combined liver and kidney failure, including simultaneous liver-kidney transplantation; a dedicated liver oncology service for the diagnosis and treatment of primary and secondary liver cancers; and specialised clinical pathways for children with inherited genetic disorders that affect the liver.
Actor and director RJ Balaji inaugurated the facility. Anil Vinayak, group chief operating officer, Fortis Healthcare; S. Niranjani, chief operating officer & hospital head, Joy Varghese, director – hepatology & transplant hepatology, and Biswarup Pal, head of medical services participated, the release said.
