NEW DELHI: Jan Suraaj Get together founder Prashant Kishor on Monday took oath because the Bankipur MLA on the Bihar Legislative Meeting, following his victory within the Bankipur Meeting by-election.Chatting with reporters after taking the oath, Kishor mentioned, “To be a member of the Home wherein individuals like Krishna Sinha, Karpoori Thakur, Anugrah Narayan Sinha, Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Kedar Pandey, Ram Vilas Paswan, and Sushil Kumar Modi served, is a matter of pleasure for me.He described his new function as “a giant duty” and mentioned he would search to comply with the instance of “a whole bunch of MLAs who devoted the dear years of their lives to the betterment of society and the state”.In Bihar’s city constituency of Bankipur, a BJP stronghold since 1995, Prashant Kishor secured his first electoral victory, defeating his nearest rival by 19,324 votes. The seat was vacated by BJP nationwide president Nitin Nabin.Kishor had mentioned he was not searching for a “protected seat” and had intentionally chosen to contest from Bankipur to ship a message that voters in Bihar ought to transfer past caste and faith.The victory marks Kishor’s first electoral win since launching the Jan Suraaj Get together, which didn’t win a seat within the 2025 Bihar Meeting elections. The Bankipur by-election recorded a voter turnout of 34.24 per cent, in response to the Election Fee.
