Former Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday, August 18, stated Union House Minister Amit Shah had given a “constructive response” to his demand for updating the Nationwide Register of Residents (NRC) within the state earlier than the Census.
Talking to reporters at Imphal airport after coming back from New Delhi, Biren Singh stated he met Shah to debate the prevailing state of affairs in Manipur and a number of other urgent points, together with NRC updation, the continued financial blockade and the counter-blockade, which he stated had led to an increase within the costs of important commodities.
