A viral video purportedly displaying Pakistan Independence Day celebrations at Dubai’s Mojo nightclub has sparked a debate on social media over the character of the festivities.

The video, shared on Instagram by Pakistani digital platform Soach, seems to indicate ladies in revealing clubwear dancing contained in the nightclub as Pakistani flags are displayed prominently on massive LED screens within the background.

The footage surfaced round Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations and has since drawn sharply divided reactions on-line, with some customers viewing the occasion as a routine celebration by Pakistanis overseas, whereas others questioned whether or not festivities of this nature have been acceptable.

‘Halal Or Haraam?’ Debate Erupts Online

The visuals have fuelled a wider debate on social media, with some users framing the controversy around whether such celebrations were “halal or haraam”.

Criticism largely centred on the setting of the celebrations, with users objecting to Independence Day festivities being held inside a nightclub and accompanied by music and dance.

Others, however, pushed back against the criticism and treated the event as a celebratory gathering rather than something that required a religious interpretation.

Pakistani Flags Displayed During Performances

In the viral footage, Pakistani flags are repeatedly shown across the nightclub’s large digital screens as performers dance on stage. The clips also show a club-like setting with music and stage effects.

The footage has since circulated on social media, drawing both appreciation and criticism and turning the celebration into a broader debate over religion, culture and the way national occasions are marked.
