A girl was allegedly gang-raped by a bunch of males in Odisha’s Cuttack district when she was out together with her pal on a drive, police mentioned on Wednesday. The accused intercepted them, thrashed his pal earlier than gang-raping the lady, in response to police.
The incident befell on Tuesday night time when the lady was travelling together with her male pal in direction of Kendrapara from Bhubaneswar, police mentioned.
“Once they stopped close to Sukarpada village on the Cuttack-Chandbali Highway, a bunch of 4 to 6 males intercepted them. The suspects thrashed the pal and gang-raped the lady,” SP (Cuttack-Rural) Vinit Agrawal instructed PTI.
“The group fled the spot, leaving the 2 on the spot,” he mentioned.
A case has been registered primarily based on the grievance lodged by the survivor, Agrawal mentioned, including {that a} DSP-rank officer has been appointed because the investigating officer.
“A number of groups have been shaped to catch the accused individuals. We’re hopeful that they are going to be arrested quickly,” he mentioned.
