New Features
Concrete Stairs and Concrete Slabs
- All 16 coloured Concrete blocks now have dedicated Stair and Slab variants
- New block tags added: #concrete_stairs and #concrete_slabs for both blocks and items

Explorer Maps Overhaul
- Explorer Maps are now their own distinct items instead of renamed Filled Maps, each with a unique icon
- The full list of new map items includes: Ocean Explorer Map, Woodland Explorer Map, Trial Explorer Map, Jungle Explorer Map, Swamp Explorer Map, Desert Village Map, Plains Village Map, Savanna Village Map, Snowy Village Map, Taiga Village Map, Buried Treasure Map, Ancient City Map, Mineshaft Map, Desert Pyramid Map, Abandoned Campsite Map, and Warm Ocean Ruins Map
- Map and Empty Map items have new icons
- These items cannot be obtained from the Creative Mode inventory
- Existing Explorer Maps in old worlds are automatically converted to the matching new item on load
- Explorer Maps can still be cloned in a Crafting Table, with copies retaining their own item type
- Explorer Maps and Buried Treasure Maps can no longer be zoomed out, either in a Crafting Table or at a Cartography Table
- Only maps in the new #minecraft:extendable_maps tag can be zoomed out
Other Changes
- Cushions no longer prevent vibrations when placed, broken, or interacted with
- Replaced Firework Rocket with Gunpowder in the Abandoned Camp Chest loot table
- Updated the Abandoned Camp Barrel loot table
- The player icon on maps now always shows the direction the player is facing
- Added Realms support for additional server regions in Canada, Mexico, South Africa, and Arizona, USA for future availability
Technical Changes
Data Components
- Added minecraft:attack_animation – controls the animation played when a weapon is used to attack
- Added minecraft:interact_animation – controls the animation played when an item is used to interact
- Removed minecraft:swing_animation – replaced by the two new components above
- Removed minecraft:map_color – maps are no longer drawn as a tinted overlay
Density Functions
- Density Functions and noises are now evaluated with single-precision floating point values instead of double-precision across all intermediate steps
Bug Fixes
Notable fixes in Snapshot 7 include:
- Fixed Cushions being usable to see through blocks
- Fixed Cushions placed inside full blocks when the player’s head intersected them
- Fixed placed Cushions facing inconsistent directions
- Fixed Armadillos not following players holding Spider Eyes
- Fixed Sniffers stopping sniffing after a relog
- Fixed the spear jab animation triggering incorrectly when interacting or throwing items
- Fixed Zombies, Husks, and Drowned holding the incorrect arm when holding spears
- Fixed several abandoned camp structures containing underwater oxidised copper chests that were not waterlogged
- Fixed shipwrecks and ocean ruins generating with empty Buried Treasure Maps
- Fixed the game crashing when adding an entity_outline post effect to a player, restarting, and entering the same world
