
The person wore a saree and pretended to be a transgender
Mumbai:
A 28-year-old man was arrested on sexual assault costs hours after he entered the home of the survivor by pretending to be a transgender in central Mumbai’s Powai, the police stated.
The accused, recognized as Anil Sheshrao Shinde, entered the home of the survivor below the pretext of fending off evil eyes on August 18.
After he entered the home, he went to the bed room and threatened the survivor with bodily hurt, the police stated. The sexual assault occurred thereafter, the police added.
A case of sexual assault was filed with the Powai police station.
The police started checking CCTV footage within the space. They tracked the accused, who wore a saree, leaving the realm in an autorickshaw in the direction of a slum in Thane’s Kharegaon. He was arrested from there.
The police stated the accused had additionally impersonated a beggar, along with pretending to be a transgender.
The police have issued a warning, asking folks to remain alert. They’ve requested the general public to not permit unknown people to enter their homes.
