JioTag 2 key features and specifications
The JioTag 2 utilises Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to pair directly with nearby smartphones, eliminating the need for cellular connectivity, a SIM card or monthly data plans. Users can trigger the device’s built-in 120dB buzzer directly from the Google Find Hub or Apple Find My apps to locate nearby items using sound. When an item moves beyond immediate Bluetooth range, the tracker relies on crowd-sourced location networks. This means that compatible Android and Apple devices nearby the device can anonymously transmit the tracker’s location back to the owner, enabling tracking across cities and international locations. The device gets native support for both Google Find Hub (Android) and Apple Find My (iOS), and gets built-in 120dB buzzer for pinpointing misplaced items nearby. The JioTag 2 features an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, housed in a polycarbonate shell with a built-in lanyard hole. It is claimed that JioTag 2 uses a user-replaceable coin cell battery designed to last up to one year.
