Rajya Sabha member Lingamaneni Ramesh has defended his son, who has been booked for inflicting the dying of a 26-year-old lady in a highway accident in Hyderabad, saying the 21-year-old took the sufferer to hospital at once, reported the crash to the police himself, and is cooperating absolutely with the investigation.

He added that his son’s medical reviews “returned destructive”, apparently saying there was no signal of intoxication.
“A case was duly registered, and three separate medical assessments had been performed on my son, which returned destructive. The investigation is presently underway, and my son is absolutely cooperating with the authorities.”
