NEW DELHI: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal was discharged from hospital on Friday, a day after he was attacked by an assailant armed with a “kirpan” at a gurdwara in Nanded, Maharashtra.The previous Punjab deputy chief minister emerged from the hospital along with his arm in a sling, flanked by supporters. Chatting with the media, he stated he was “not afraid” in his first response to the assault.“Their mission is to take management of the state of affairs in Punjab and disturb the peace, which, as president of the Akali Dal, I’ll by no means enable,” Badal instructed reporters, apparently referring to these he suspects of being behind the assault.
