Vishal’s directorial debut Makutam (Magudam in Tamil) has become a serious box-office debacle. For Vishal, who took the extra duty of directing the movie after Ravi Arasu’s exit, it is a large setback each as a debut director and the lead actor.
The movie was rejected by critics and audiences proper from its launch. The largest drawback is its outdated storytelling, routine therapy and overuse of acquainted cliches. As an alternative of providing something recent, the movie follows a formulaic and tiring template that frontally disconnects viewers.
