India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh warnings for the next two days as rainfall continues across Odisha. A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for seven districts, and a yellow warning for rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning remains intact for several other regions.
As per reports, Mayurbhanj district is expected to receive the heaviest rainfall on Tuesday. Meanwhile, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected across Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts.
Additionally, gusty surface winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph are expected to be witnessed at a few places during this period.
Official Safety Advisory For Residents
In view of the weather conditions, the Meteorological Department has issued a safety advisory for the public. Residents have been advised against staying in open areas during thunderstorms and taking shelter under trees.

Authorities have also advised people to temporarily not indulge in farming and other outdoor activities, urging them to stay in safe places until weather conditions improve.
