Former HC CJ Siddharth Mridul Files Nomination For SCBA President Post

Senior Advocate Siddharth Mridul, former Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, has filed his nomination to contest for the post of President in the forthcoming Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections.

Mridul, who returned to legal practice after demitting office as Chief Justice, formally entered the fray by submitting his nomination papers on Thursday.

Before his appointment as Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court in October 2023, Mridul served as a judge of the Delhi High Court. He retired from judicial office in November 2024 and subsequently resumed practice as a senior advocate in the Supreme Court.

The SCBA elections are due to be held on Augsut 18, 2026.
