Expedite process to fill RERA vacancies: Delhi High Court directs Delhi government

The Bench handed the order after two advocates – Aishwary Jain and Deeptanshu Jain – approached the Excessive Court docket in search of a route allowing outgoing Delhi RERA Chairperson Anand Kumar to proceed in workplace on an interim, stop-gap foundation till a successor is appointed.

It was said that the Chairperson’s submit fell vacant on August 11, 2026, after Kumar turned 65, whereas a member’s submit has been vacant since December 2025. The petitioners allege that no reference has been made to the Choice Committee below Rule 17 of the Delhi RERA Guidelines, 2016, making it unimaginable to fulfill the 90-day choice timeline mandated below Part 24(3) of the RERA Act.
