A retired military serviceman died after his throat was slit by the razor-sharp banned Chinese language ‘manjha’ (thread) whereas he was returning residence on a two-wheeler in Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident happened on Sunday night when Naib Subedar (Retd) Lakhwinder Singh – a resident of Mamka, R S Pura – was returning residence after finishing his shift as a non-public safety guard at an industrial unit in Bari Brahmana. Singh sustained essential accidents after the thread obtained entangled round his neck and slit his throat.
He was rushed to the hospital however died from his accidents.
Police have began an investigation and launched a crackdown in opposition to distributors promoting the thread.
