The Enforcement Directorate Director, Rahul Navin, has been given a one-year extension, as authorised by the Appointments Committee of the Cupboard.
Mr. Navin’s tenure because the ED chief has been prolonged by one yr past August 13, 2026, “together with extension in service past the date of his superannuation i.e. July 31, 2027, or till additional orders, whichever is earlier”.
The 1993-batch Indian Income Service (Revenue Tax) official had joined the company as a Particular Director in November 2019. He was given the extra cost as ED Director in September 2023. In August 2024, he grew to become full-time chief.
In Could 2026, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director, Praveen Sood, had been given one other one-year extension. The 1986-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer was earlier granted a one-year extension in Could 2025 after completion of his two-year time period as CBI Director.
