The Brihanmumbai Municipal Company (BMC) has begun demolition motion towards alleged unauthorised development at Rustomjee Crown, a luxurious housing mission in Mumbai.
The motion covers 128 flats on the mission within the Crown Mill Compound. A number of of the flats are reportedly linked to Maharashtra politicians, bureaucrats and distinguished businesspeople.
The case pertains to frequent and open areas across the constructing’s lifts. A grievance alleged that some flat house owners had merged these shared areas into their residences, leading to unauthorised development.
The house is estimated to be price greater than Rs 250 crore. Property within the affected a part of the constructing reportedly sells for greater than Rs 1 lakh per sq. foot.
RTI activist Santosh Daundkar filed the grievance alleging that house owners of the 128 flats had occupied frequent areas across the lifts in violation of constructing guidelines. The BMC’s assistant commissioner for the G-South ward ordered motion towards the buildings after the grievance was acquired.
Rustomjee Crown has three towers, every 63 storeys tall. Two of the three have acquired Occupancy Certificates from the BMC.
The flats reportedly coated by the motion embody one linked to Maharashtra Cupboard Minister Sanjay Rathod and his spouse, Sheetal Rathod. Former state minister Deepak Kesarkar’s flat can be reportedly amongst these coated; Kesarkar is claimed to pay Rs 4.20 lakh a month in lease for the house.
