BJP MP and ex-UP Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma appointed Andaman and Nicobar Lieutenant Governor, succeeds DK Joshi – Andaman and Nicobar Islands News

BJP Rajya Sabha MP and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma was appointed Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Saturday, the Rashtrapati Bhavan stated in a late-night communique.

Sharma, 62, will succeed Admiral D Okay Joshi (retd), who has served because the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory since October 8, 2017.

“The President of India is happy to nominate Dr Dinesh Sharma as Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands with impact from the date he assumes cost of his workplace,” the Rashtrapati Bhavan stated.

Following his appointment, Sharma expressed gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, House Minister Amit Shah and the BJP’s central management in a publish on X.

“Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble House Minister, and the get together’s central management — my heartfelt thanks,” Sharma stated.
