A Bengaluru-based man has shared how he confronted an auto driver who was driving on the wrong side of a one-way service road and made him apologise.
On the r/Bangalore subreddit, the man shared a post titled, “Made the auto guy and a few others apologise,” along with pictures.
Explaining what had happened, he said that he was travelling to work when he was enraged by motorists driving on the wrong side of an already congested service road in Mahadevapura: “This morning, on my way to work, I was so fed up with wrong-side drivers on an already overcrowded service road near More, Mahadevapura. Yes, it’s a service road, but it is a one-way road, with a sign clearly stating the same.”
He admitted that his refusal to move added to the traffic jam but argued that the congestion already existed because of motorists driving against traffic.
The man said that he challenged the auto driver after the latter insisted the road was not one-way. He offered to pay the driver Rs 1,000 if there was no signboard but asked for an apology if one existed.
He then pointed out the one-way sign to the driver: “I went ahead and showed him the one-way board. And you know what? He sheepishly apologised.”
The man had also recorded videos of motorists driving on the wrong side and on footpaths, showing their faces and vehicle number plates, and planned to submit them to the police station.

Meanwhile, in the comments section, several users praised the man for confronting wrong-side drivers, saying India needed “more citizens like you.” However, others advised against such confrontations, warning that they could quickly turn hostile.
Some shared personal experiences of seeing people surrounded and attacked by auto drivers during disputes, while another added that they no longer engage in road rage because people have become increasingly unpredictable when angry.
