With a wonderful mane of glowing purple fuel and mud, the Lion Nebula sparkles on the cosmic savanna on this new picture captured by the James Webb Space Telescope.

What’s it?

This new image highlights the beautiful great thing about the Lion Nebula (formally named NGC 2392), which earned its nickname because of its vaguely lion-head-shaped “face” and surrounding, fuzzy “mane”.
