Alex Michelsen enters this match with confidence after reaching the quarterfinals of the Citi Open last week. The American also won the pair’s only previous meeting, which came earlier this year in Madrid. Jan-Lennard Struff will look to dictate play with his powerful game, but Michelsen has been the more consistent player in recent months. On hard courts, the American’s solid baseline game should help him come through.

Cameron Norrie vs Camilo Ugo Carabelli
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Both Cameron Norrie and Camilo Ugo Carabelli arrive with fairly similar form in 2026, although the Argentine’s best results have naturally come on clay. This is likely to be a physical contest with plenty of long baseline rallies, as neither player relies on outright power. Norrie’s greater variety and ability to open up the court on hard courts should give him the edge. Expect the Brit to grind out the victory.

Gael Monfils vs Kamil Majchrzak
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Gael Monfils begins what is expected to be his final appearance at the Canadian Masters with a wild card and will undoubtedly have the crowd firmly behind him. However, the Frenchman enters with little momentum, while Kamil Majchrzak has quietly put together a consistent season. If the Pole defends well and stays patient from the baseline, he should be able to frustrate Monfils throughout the match. Expect Majchrzak to spoil the home celebration and progress.
