Two airport safety personnel have been hospitalised after a passenger at Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport pulled the set off on his licensed pistol throughout a routine screening examine, allegedly to point out that the weapon was secure. It fired, injuring each of them.

The second injured screener, Rohit Raj, instructed PTI, “The incident occurred whereas we have been doing our job as screeners in I-Class. When declared weapons arrive, we have now to examine them.
