Thailand school shooting LIVE: At least 7 people dead, 15 wounded, say police

Thailand’s Education Minister Prasert Chantararuangthong assured swift action and support following the shooting incident in school, urging restraint in sharing sensitive information.

Taking it to X, Mr. Chantararuangthong said, “I am currently on official duty in Ubon Ratchathani Province, and I have been closely following the situation throughout. I have ordered all agencies under the Ministry of Education to urgently coordinate their efforts with relevant officials and organisations to the fullest extent in order to swiftly resolve the situation, prioritise the safety of students, teachers, and personnel first and foremost, and promptly assess and provide comprehensive assistance and support to all affected individuals, both physically and mentally.”

“I request the cooperation of fellow citizens and the media: please refrain from forwarding or disseminating sensitive images, videos, or information, especially those depicting the deceased, the injured, students, or individuals related to the incident, as well as unverified information, as this could impact the rights, privacy, and mental well-being of families and those affected,” he added.

He also extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
