Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho continues to see his squad take shape as more international players return to Valdebebas.
Although Real Madrid are already three weeks into pre-season, the Portuguese coach has yet to work with his full squad following Spain’s World Cup triumph less than a month ago.
That changed on Monday, with Bernardo Silva, Vinicius Jr. and Brahim Diaz all reporting back to begin preparations for the new campaign.
As is customary on their first day back, the trio went undergo medical examinations before taking part in their first training sessions under Mourinho.
Vinicius returns with future still unresolved
Vinicius’ return comes amid continued uncertainty surrounding his future. With only one year remaining on his current contract, the Brazilian is expected to hold talks with Florentino Perez regarding the renewal offer already on the table.
The winger must now decide whether to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu or reject the proposal.
Should he refuse to renew, Real Madrid are expected to consider selling him this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer when his contract expires, with Arsenal strongly interested.
Bernardo Silva begins his Real Madrid journey
Monday also marked Bernardo Silva’s first day as a Real Madrid player.
The Portuguese midfielder was a personal request from Mourinho and chose Los Blancos despite receiving interest from both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The club have now officially registered him with La Liga, leaving only Carlos Espí’s registration to be completed among the summer arrivals.
Having endured a disappointing World Cup, the veteran star will be aiming to hit the ground running at Real Madrid.
Brahim ready to fight for his place
Brahim has also returned determined to prove his value. The Moroccan international faces fierce competition for places in Real Madrid’s attacking unit, meaning his future has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer.
With Endrick back from his loan, Bernardo arriving and Real Madrid also working to sign Yan Diomande, the battle for a starting berth will be intense.
Despite that, Brahim’s intention remains unchanged. He wants to stay at Real Madrid and convince Mourinho that he can play an important role throughout the season.
Full squad taking shape
With more internationals now back in training, Mourinho is steadily regaining the players he has been missing throughout preseason.
The goal is to have the entire squad fully integrated and physically prepared ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga opener against RCD Espanyol on 22 August, when the club begin their pursuit of domestic and European honours.
