The global variant of the Redmi 17 5G has leaked ahead of its official launch, revealing its complete specifications, expected pricing, and design. An exclusive 91Mobiles report has shared high-resolution renders that offer a detailed look at the smartphone before its debut in international markets. Here’s more on what we know about the phone so far.
Redmi 17 5G – Design, Colours and Expected Price
According to the leaked renders, the Redmi 17 5G will be available in Orange, Black, and Blue colour options. The orange version features a textured rear panel, while all three variants share the same flat-edge design and a large rectangular camera island with circular camera cut-outs.

The smartphone measures 170.12 x 74.42 x 8.8mm and weighs 235g, suggesting a fairly large device that accommodates its big display and high-capacity battery.
As for pricing, the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is expected to cost around €250, placing the Redmi 17 5G in the budget-to-mid-range smartphone segment.
Redmi 17 5G – Key Specs
The Redmi 17 5G is tipped to feature a 6.9-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. One of the highlights of the display is its support for 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz refresh rates, allowing users to choose between smoother animations or improved battery efficiency. The panel is also said to offer 675 nits of typical brightness and up to 825 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM), which should help improve visibility under sunlight.
Powering the smartphone is expected to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset built on a 4nm process with a maximum clock speed of 2.45GHz. The handset is tipped to run HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16 out of the box.
For photography, the Redmi 17 5G is expected to feature a 50-megapixel AI primary camera, accompanied by a QVGA anti-flicker sensor. On the front, the smartphone is tipped to include an 8-megapixel selfie camera for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone is said to pack a 7,500mAh battery with the leak claiming an endurance of up to 78 hours and 20 minutes.
The device is expected to support 45W USB Type-C fast charging with USB Power Delivery. However, the leaked information also claims that Xiaomi will not include a charger inside the retail box.
The Redmi 17 5G is expected to support dual Nano SIM cards with 5G and 4G connectivity. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. The smartphone is also tipped to feature stereo speakers with a claimed 300 percent volume boost along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For security, the device is expected to offer a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock. The leak also mentions a dynamic RGB LED, which could be used for notifications and visual lighting effects.
In terms of durability, the Redmi 17 5G is expected to feature Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front and carry an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
