Centre Notifies Appointment of Chief Justices of Eight High Courts

The Centre on Saturday notified the appointment of Chief Justices to eight Excessive Courts throughout the nation.

Union Minister of State for Regulation and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced the appointments, stating that the President had made them in train of powers conferred by the Structure of India, after session with the Chief Justice of India.

The appointments are:

1. Justice Valluri Kameswar Rao, Delhi Excessive Courtroom → Chief Justice of Patna Excessive Courtroom
2. Justice Ravindra V. Ghuge, Bombay Excessive Courtroom → Chief Justice of Calcutta Excessive Courtroom
3. Justice Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, Chhattisgarh Excessive Courtroom → Chief Justice of Rajasthan Excessive Courtroom
4. Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi, Allahabad Excessive Courtroom → Chief Justice of Bombay Excessive Courtroom
5. Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, Punjab & Haryana Excessive Courtroom → Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana Excessive Courtroom
6. Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra, Orissa Excessive Courtroom → Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh Excessive Courtroom
7. Justice Alpesh Yeshwant Kogje, Gujarat Excessive Courtroom → Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh Excessive Courtroom
8. Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati, Rajasthan Excessive Courtroom → Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Excessive Courtroom

The appointments will place the eight judges on the helm of their respective Excessive Courts.
