Hyundai Creta, including Creta Electric, finished third with 18,088 units. Despite multiple new rivals entering the segment in recent months, Creta has continued to lead the mid-size SUV space, highlighting its strong brand equity among Indian buyers.

Tata Nexon, including Nexon EV, took fourth place with 17,471 units, posting a healthy 36.23% increase over July last year. Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio N together occupied fifth position with 16,009 units, growing 16.45% YoY. Just yesterday Mahindra announced the launch of new Scorpio N

The biggest percentage gainer among established models was Kia Seltos. Sales jumped from 6,010 units in July 2025 to 12,541 units in July 2026, translating to an impressive 108.67% YoY growth. July marked the best monthly sales performance for the new Seltos since deliveries commenced in January 2026. Having averaged around 10,000 units per month over the previous six months, the SUV recorded 12,541 units in July. The sharp rise indicates growing buyer demand, while also suggesting Kia has increased production to cater to the stronger order inflow.

Recently updated Maruti Brezza was the only model in the top 10 to register a decline. Sales fell 14.29% from 14,065 units to 12,055 units, pushing it down to seventh place. Maruti Victoris sales were at 11,334 units. Hyundai Venue ranked ninth with 11,095 units, recording a healthy 37.76% YoY growth over 8,054 units sold in July 2025. Rounding off the list was Mahindra Thar and Thar Roxx combined, with sales of 10,558 units. The lifestyle SUV duo grew 7.24% over the 9,845 units sold in July last year.

Top 10 SUVs See Healthy Growth

The combined sales of the top 10 SUVs stood at 1,49,937 units in July 2026, up by 44,836 units over the 1,05,101 units recorded in July 2025. The segment registered an overall year-on-year growth of 42.66%, underlining the continued dominance of SUVs in the Indian passenger vehicle market.
