Supreme Court asks e-committee to provide for compounding of offences on e-courts portal

Senior Advocate Maninder Singh, showing for the petitioner, stated that the suggestions made by a Excessive Courtroom have remained into consideration and that modifications to the portal are needed for higher functioning of e-courts.

“Now, with digital surveillance being introduced in regulation, compounding is getting carried out on the police portal, however after 60 days it will get transferred to e-courts portal. Just one insertion is required, that it may be compounded and it’ll (be mirrored as) not responsible. The Excessive Courtroom suggestion in 2024 was twice authorized by the Committee. They stated it’s into consideration. That is of paramount significance for the higher functioning of e-Courts,” he stated.
