Ather Konarc Electric Scooter India Launch on 29 August

  • Based on the EL01 concept

Ather Energy has confirmed that its upcoming EL-platform-based electric scooter will be called the Konarc. It will be launched in India on 29 August at the Ather Community Day 2026.

The Ather Konarc is the first production model to be based on the new EL platform, a scalable architecture that was first showcased in the form of the EL01 concept at Ather Community Day 2025. The platform has been developed to underpin multiple electric two-wheelers across different body styles, battery sizes, and price points.

While Ather has not revealed the Konarc’s specifications yet, the company has already offered a glimpse of the scooter through various teasers. The scooter’s design appears to remain largely identical to the EL01 concept, although it incorporates production-ready elements.

The Konarc is expected to feature a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheel combination, with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. It is also likely to get a seven-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity.

The EL platform has been engineered to support battery packs ranging from 2kWh to 5kWh, allowing Ather to introduce multiple models in the future. The Konarc is expected to be the brand’s entry into the mass-market electric scooter segment and is likely to be priced between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). A Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option could also be offered to further lower the scooter’s initial purchase price.
