Redmi 17C 5G shows up as a rebrand of another device

The Redmi 17C 4G launched back in June, and now the Redmi 17C 5G was spotted in a listing in Luxembourg. The 5G version comes with a 6.9-inch 720×1600 LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and an 810-nit peak brightness.

It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64/128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There’s a 50MP f/1.8 main camera on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera on the front, and the battery capacity is 6,000 mAh, charging at 33W.

The phone runs HyperOS 3. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. It will be available in black, purple, and brown.

Xiaomi Redmi 15C

Here’s the thing, though. This is the Redmi 15C 5G by a new name, with some new colors and a slightly different design of the camera island (though the shape and size are the same). It’s also launching with a newer version of HyperOS.

Thanks for the tip!
