Wild footage has surfaced on social media capturing the terrifying second an octopus latched onto a fisherman’s face. The marine mollusc wrapped its tentacles round his head and lined his mouth with its highly effective suckers. The incident occurred when Jesser Cervantes was fishing from a picket dinghy close to the Philippines final month when he reeled within the octopus, New York Post reported. The animal out of the blue clung to his face, leaving Cervantes struggling to pry it free as a number of tentacles tightened round his head.
At one level, the octopus lined his mouth, making the horrifying encounter much more harmful. Determined to free himself, Cervantes grabbed a lower bamboo stem and repeatedly struck the animal till its grip started to loosen.
After a number of makes an attempt, he managed to tug the octopus away and finally dropped it again into the water. The fisherman was left catching his breath after the tense battle. “The octopus I caught was very laborious to deal with. It virtually ripped my face,” stated Cervantes.
