Flipkart’s Freedom Sale is set to kick off on August 8, and if you have been waiting to upgrade your smartphone, this could be one of the biggest shopping events of the season. Ahead of the sale, the e-commerce platform has revealed discounts on several premium and mid-range smartphones, including Apple’s latest iPhone 17 series, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 lineup, Nothing phones, Oppo flagships, and more. Plus and Black members will get early access to the sale a day before everyone else.
While the announced prices look attractive, buyers should keep one thing in mind. Flipkart has often introduced its lowest prices for only a limited period during previous sales, with some deals disappearing within hours or prices gradually increasing later. Whether the same strategy will be followed during this Freedom Sale remains to be seen, but shoppers planning to buy a phone may want to act early if the advertised prices go live.
iPhone 17 series and Samsung Galaxy S25 to get big discount
Apple’s latest iPhone 17 lineup is among the biggest showstoppers of the sale. Flipkart’s teaser page suggests that the iPhone 17 will be available under Rs 80,000 segment, down from its launch price of Rs 82,900. While the company hasn’t revealed the complete pricing structure, the final price is expected to include a combination of an instant discount and eligible bank offers.
The premium models are also getting sizeable price cuts. The iPhone 17 Pro is teased at an effective price of Rs 1,21,900, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is promised to be available for Rs 1,32,900. Flipkart says buyers can get discounts of up to Rs 17,000 on both Pro models, although part of the savings will depend on bank card offers.
Samsung’s flagship phones are also receiving notable discounts. The Galaxy S25, which debuted at Rs 74,999, is set to be available at an effective price of Rs 57,999, translating to savings of up to Rs 17,000. Flipkart hasn’t shared the exact breakup of the discount, but it is expected to include both instant and bank offers.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra is teased at Rs 1,30,999, compared to its launch price of Rs 1,39,999, offering a flat discount of Rs 9,000. Buyers looking for a more affordable Samsung option can also consider the Galaxy A37, which is teased to be available for Rs 36,499 during the upcoming Flipkart Freedom Day sale.
Nothing, Oppo and Vivo phones also get price cuts
The sale isn’t limited to Apple and Samsung. Flipkart has also confirmed discounts on several other flagship and premium smartphones.
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro will be available at an effective price of Rs 43,999, down from its current listed price of Rs 49,999, bringing the total savings to around Rs 6,000.
For buyers interested in premium Android flagships, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is also getting a notable reduction. The phone, launched in India at Rs 1,69,999, is teased at an effective price of around Rs 1,53,000, amounting to nearly Rs 17,000 in savings.
Flipkart has also confirmed that Vivo smartphones will be part of the Freedom Sale, although exact prices are yet to be announced. The platform has teased offers on devices including the Vivo 200T, Vivo X300 Ultra, Vivo V70, and more.
One thing worth remembering is that some smartphone prices may still appear higher than what their launch prices were earlier this year. That’s because several brands have increased smartphone prices over the past few months, pushing up the cost of many popular models. Even so, the upcoming Freedom Sale could still offer one of the best opportunities to buy premium smartphones at lower prices, especially for those who can combine instant discounts with eligible bank offers.
