Bengaluru double murder: Woman kills huusband to death with help of boyfriend, smothers son to death laterA Bengaluru woman and her lover have been arrested for the murder of her husband and four-year-old son, with police saying the killings were pre-planned and that the accused carried them out after the victims went to sleep. The chilling sequence of events unfolded at the family’s home. While Abhinandan, 38, and his five-year-old son watched Bigg Boss on TV, Harini planned their murders while taking a walk in the verandah. According to police, Harini and her boyfriend Vinay had planned to kill Abhinandan because they believed he was coming in the way of their relationship. Police said Harini had been pressing her husband for a divorce and wanted to live with Vinay. The couple, who married in 2021, had reportedly been facing marital problems for years and had been sleeping in separate rooms for around two years. Harini and Vinay allegedly met through Snapchat in December 2024 and subsequently developed a relationship. Police said Abhinandan had become suspicious that his wife was talking to another man. Around 15 days before the murders, he approached the police seeking her call detail records. The couple reportedly had frequent arguments over the issue. Police suspect that the final murder plan was hatched after another argument between Abhinandan and Harini on August 14, two days before the killings. During the altercation, Abhinandan allegedly assaulted his wife. The following morning, Abhinandan dropped Harini at her parental home before travelling to meet his mother. On Sunday evening, he returned, picked up Harini and came back home. By then, police suspect, Harini had already decided to kill him with Vinay’s help. According to DCP North West Nagesh, Harini spoke to Vinay after the Friday altercation and the two allegedly finalised their plan. Police said Harini had also purchased two pairs of gloves in advance, which she and Vinay allegedly wore while carrying out the killings. Police suspect that the CCTV cameras at the residence had been switched off on Sunday itself, before the murders. At around 11 pm, Vinay allegedly arrived at the house. Harini is suspected to have hidden him in the passage near the garage before bringing him inside. At around 11.30 pm, after Abhinandan went to sleep, Harini allegedly brought Vinay into her room. Since the couple slept separately, she reportedly checked three times to make sure that her husband was asleep. At around 12.30 am, Harini and Vinay put on the gloves they had brought earlier and went to Abhinandan. Police said that Vinay gripped Abhinandan by the neck and strangled him, while Harini held his legs down. The noise during the attack woke the couple’s son. DCP Nagesh said Harini confessed to killing the child after he woke up during the attack on his father. “During the altercation, the child woke up. Therefore, she has also confessed to killing the child. We have a – Bangalore News
