Chandigarh, 08.09.26- The Division of Bodily and Rehabilitation Drugs, PGIMER, Chandigarh, in affiliation with the PGI Physiotherapist Affiliation (PPA), organised a collection of educational {and professional} actions to commemorate World Physiotherapy Day 2026. The celebrations had been centred on the theme, “ Stroke: From Survival to Restoration – Function of Physiotherapy Throughout the Continuum of Care.”
The programme started with educational periods on 4th and fifth September 2026 on the Auditorium, Superior Eye Centre, PGIMER.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Vijay GGoni, Head, Division of Bodily and Rehabilitation Drugs and Prof. Dheeraj khurana. The periods coated varied points of stroke administration and rehabilitation and had been performed by consultants together with Prof. Dheeraj Khurana, Dr. Sushant Sahoo, Dr. Raghunath Sahoo (PT), Dr. Jaya Talwar (PT), Dr. Bhushan Chandra Paul (PT), Dr. Shivpriya (PT), Dr. NeetikaKatiyar (PT) and Dr. Salman Ahmed (PT).
A hands-on Kinesiotaping Workshop, with the theme “ Study • Apply • Empower,” was performed on sixth September by Dr. Upendra Goswami (PT), Superintendent Physiotherapist, PGIMER, Chandigarh, offering members a possibility for sensible studying.
The celebrations culminated on eighth September 2026 , World
Physiotherapy Day, with a tutorial interplay session comprising a pupil quiz and poster shows. The actions supplied an interesting platform for college kids to exhibit their information and creativity and inspired educational interplay amongst college students and physiotherapy professionals.
This was adopted by a standard lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising information, studying and the spirit of service. Dr. Pradip Sarkar, Chief Physiotherapist, PGIMER , addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of World Physiotherapy Day and the essential position of physiotherapists in affected person care, rehabilitation and enhancing high quality of life.
