National Film Awards Move Out Of Delhi, Ceremony To Take Place In Gujarat On September 22

The Nationwide Movie Awards ceremony will transfer out of Delhi to Kevadia in Gujarat with President Droupadi Murmu presenting the honours on September 22, officers mentioned on Monday.

Kevadia, which has been renamed Ekta Nagar, is residence to the world’s tallest statue — that of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Statue of Unity stands at 597 ft and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018.

The primary Nationwide Awards in 1954 have been held in Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan. Since then a lot of the award ceremonies came about over there. 

The 72nd edition of the awards, introduced in July, might be a departure from the standard custom although there have been situations when the ceremony was held exterior Delhi. 

The seventeenth Nationwide Movie Awards have been held in Chennai in 1971.
