The federal government will introduce a invoice within the Lok Sabha on Monday geared toward broadening the mandate of the Nationwide Cooperative Improvement Company (NCDC), enabling the organisation to provide loans and grants on to co-operative societies or any entity engaged within the growth of the sector.

The NCDC, a statutory organisation underneath the Ministry of Cooperation, was established in 1963 underneath the Nationwide Co-operative Improvement Company Act, 1962.

Its major features embrace planning, selling, and financing applications for the manufacturing, processing, advertising and marketing, storage, and export-import of agricultural produce, foodstuffs, and different notified commodities.

On Monday, the federal government will current the Nationwide Cooperative Improvement Company (Modification) Act, 2026, within the Lok Sabha. In response to the invoice circulated to the Lok Sabha members, this modification seeks to revise the principal Act.
