Cancer: Comprehensive Care and Support, Not Just Technology

If current trends continue, diagnoses could grow by nearly 90% by 2050, approaching 393,000 cases annually. In this scenario, it is essential to build a virtuous circle that brings together specialized care, more precise technologies, timely diagnosis, comprehensive support for patients, and assistance for their caregivers and families.

The response cannot be limited solely to treating the disease. It must include a comprehensive vision that strengthens people’s quality of life throughout their care journey. This means understanding that behind every diagnosis there is a person, a family, and an economic reality that also face enormous challenges.

For this reason, our responsibility as a health institution is to look beyond the clinical sphere. We are convinced that innovation in oncology must be accompanied by mechanisms that facilitate effective access to care and reduce families’ financial vulnerability in the face of a cancer diagnosis. From our position, we work to promote new coverage models and strategies that help expand access to specialized services, strengthen continuity of care, and offer greater financial protection to households facing one of the most complex moments of their lives.

As a hospital group, we understand that the future of cancer care will be increasingly personalized, predictive, and centered on each patient’s needs. That future is already taking shape thanks to advances that make it possible to adapt treatments based on each individual’s progress, rather than relying solely on a plan designed weeks in advance.

One example of this transformation is adaptive radiotherapy, an evolution that incorporates artificial intelligence, advanced medical imaging, and data analysis to adjust treatment as the patient’s clinical conditions change. Beyond the technological complexity, what truly matters is that this capability enables more precise decision-making and a more timely response to the individual needs of each case.

For decades, radiotherapy has been one of the most effective tools for fighting cancer. Thanks to it, millions of people around the world have received successful treatments. However, medicine is constantly evolving, and today we have resources that allow us to further refine that precision.

The ability to identify changes in the size of a tumor, the position of nearby organs, or other patient conditions before each session represents a new way of understanding medicine. It is the shift from a reactive model to one capable of adapting in real time to each person’s needs.
